This issue of the International Electronic Journal of Mathematics Education sees our first book review offering from Fatma Kayan.  Fatma Kayan is a PhD student in the Elementary Education Department at Turkey’s Middle East Technical University.  She is involved in studies relating to elementary mathematics education, mathematical problem solving, and teacher professional development.

The review discusses “What’s worth fighting for in education?” by Andy Hargreaves and Michael Fullan. While the book is now 10 years old, the problems of determining the important issues in school (and higher) education and fostering collaborative links between schools and the communities which they serve are as critical now as they have ever been.
